ProxmoxVE is a complete open-source virtualization management solution for servers. It is based on KVM and container-virtualization and manages virtual machines, storage, virtualized networks, and HA Clustering. Proxmox VE 3. Under the hood, many improvements and optimizations are done, most important is the replacement of Apache 2 by our own event-driven API server.

Thanks Tom, i'll wait a reply so from the staff. Regards, N. Best Regards! Update: if i log in to the proxmox server via ipmi i see this on dmesg messages: [ King Regards, N. The Proxmox server was not reachable via sshthe only way we can access on it is via IPMI like i wrote upstairs and we see this error message from the server where Proxmox is installed.
Thank you in advance! Thanks for the reply manu so next time i'll do what you suggest me for a better troubleshooting. So according all details i posted here i have this 2 questions for you: There is something wrong in the proxmox config that may cause this error? If yes, what file of the proxmox config we have to check for troubleshoot? It can be useful disable the multicast spoofing pve side to solve this? I can't ping google, and my computer can't access the web interface time out. There is no blinking light on the adapter when proxmox is running, and I'm thinking that it's trying to use the wrong network adapter. I tried installing Proxmox onto debian, as I can choose which network adapter to use. I'm able to use the internet, install packages, ping, etc. This utility program can be run on the Node just as the standard Linux ps.

To get started, type ifconfig at the terminal prompt, and then hit Enter. This command lists all network interfaces on the system, so take note of the name of the interface for which you want to change the IP address. To change the settings, you also use the ifconfig command, this time with a few additional parameters. You could, of course, substitute in whatever values you want.
If you run ifconfig again, you will see that your interface has now taken on the new settings you assigned to it. If you also need to change the Default Gateway used by the network interface, you can use the route command. To see your new setting, you will need to display the routing table.
Type the following command at the prompt, and then hit Enter:. The Best Tech Newsletter Anywhere. Joinsubscribers and get a daily digest of news, comics, trivia, reviews, and more. All Proxmox VE tools try hard to keep direct user modifications, but using the GUI is still preferable, because it protects you from errors. Once the network is configured, you can use the Debian traditional tools ifup and ifdown commands to bring interfaces up and down.
This also allows to ensure your changes are correct before applying, as a wrong network configuration may render a node inaccessible. With the default installed ifupdown network managing package you need to reboot to commit any pending network changes. Most of the time, the basic Proxmox VE network setup is stable and does not change often, so rebooting should not be required often.
With the optional ifupdown2 network managing package you also can reload the network configuration live, without requiring a reboot. Since Proxmox VE 6. You can also switch back to the ifupdown variant at any time, if you run into issues.
This naming scheme is used for new Proxmox VE installations since version 5. When upgrading to 5.Ultimate Virtualization and Container Dev Setup Proxmox VE w/ Docker and Portainer
This makes it easier to debug networks problems, because the device name implies the device type. Systemd uses the two character prefix en for Ethernet network devices. The next characters depends on the device driver and the fact which schema matches first. For more information see Predictable Network Interface Names. Depending on your current network organization and your resources you can choose either a bridged, routed, or masquerading networking setup. The Bridged model makes the most sense in this case, and this is also the default mode on new Proxmox VE installations.
Each of your Guest system will have a virtual interface attached to the Proxmox VE bridge. This is similar in effect to having the Guest network card directly connected to a new switch on your LAN, the Proxmox VE host playing the role of the switch.
For this setup, you can use either a Bridged or Routed model, depending on what your provider allows. In that case the only way to get outgoing network accesses for your guest systems is to use Masquerading.
For incoming network access to your guests, you will need to configure Port Forwarding. That way it is possible to build complex and flexible virtual networks.
Bridges are like physical network switches implemented in software. All virtual guests can share a single bridge, or you can create multiple bridges to separate network domains. Each host can have up to bridges.
The installation program creates a single bridge named vmbr0which is connected to the first Ethernet card. Virtual machines behave as if they were directly connected to the physical network. The network, in turn, sees each virtual machine as having its own MAC, even though there is only one network cable connecting all of these VMs to the network.
